*clears her throat* Ahem...They say love happens when you least expect it- but what if you expect it 24/7, then what?
In the a very Bridget Jones-like way, Happy Mania's Shigeta searches desperately for that someone, so she will not be alone forever.
Happy Mania, mainly aimed at mature girls, and holds an M rating, is the hilarious tale of a 24 year old girl on the hunt for love. She falls into one relationship after another, each ending badly. Taking leaps before looking, she gets herself into unwanted situations with strapping studs by the handful.
Although it is listed as a romantic drama, I haven't found the drama yet really. Shigeta's antics, reactions, and expressions keep it pretty comical. A big part of that is the way Moyoco draws her characters.
I admit at first I was turned off by the style... I didn't like the nostrils... The nostrils bothered me... Though I quickly changed my mind after reading a few pages (though the nostrils still bother me... ¬_¬). And found myself picking up another book just by recognizing the character style (Flowers and Bees, which I also recommend). I am thoroughly entertained by this series and sometimes compare myself to Shigeta.
If you liked Bridget Jones Diary, and you like manga, I suggest you pick up a copy and skim through, or borrow from a friend, to see if you'd like it.... and then join this fanlisting. ^_^
